I wish that we had a good, old-fashioned barber shop here in Ogden. Shaving with a straight razor is one of the most relaxing, manly things I do. I’ve always wondered what it would be like to have someone else do the shave-work.
I went into the barbershop on the corner of Grant and 25th St. once thinking that I was going to get a nice barber’s cut. But, I was very, very disappointed. A middle-aged lady with a smoker’s cough hacked my hair worse than I have ever had it cut. It was terrible.
As the days go by, I become more and more like an old man. But, not just any old man, an old man who was born eighty years ago. I get tired of the commercial crap that we are fed every day. So, I learn the skills to live my life the way I think it should be lived.
It’s just too bad that there aren’t more of these places.
